Kite Flying

Last Discovery day we used the class kites and spent much of the day working out how to put them together and fly them without tangling the strings!  We had a wonderful time but unfortunately the photos don't do our experience justice.

Soccer has become a favourite past-time. The senior boys umpired a game on the big field on Friday afternoon.

Art with Mrs H.

Sometimes Mrs H. looks after Room 10 and they always produce beautiful artworks when she is in the room. This is our class busy making our colourful suns inspired by Maui and the Sun.

Brooklyn has been bringing visitors to school.

Plastic Problem

Room 10 have been talking about plastic and the problems it is causing the world. As a follow-up we presented our findings and recommendations to the school at an assembly. Here are some photos from the presentation.
And most importantly, we haven't finished our investigations about how to improve our disposal of plastic at school yet. We will keep you posted.
Thanks to the families who are now wrapping lunches in reusable foodwrap and using lunchboxes with compartments. We have already noticed less plastic in class.

We started swimming this week. The first few days at the pool the instructors put the class through different activities to check what we could do.

Co-Operative Learning

This week we have tried some co-operative activities. Each person in the group has a role such as recorder, questioner or researcher. The class thrived on the challenge, Even more interesting - the groups were chosen by Miss S!
